North Star AI Academy ("North Star," "we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what choices you have. It applies to anyone using northstaraiacademy.com and app.northstaraiacademy.com.

What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication details from our identity provider (Clerk). When you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and holds your payment information; we never see or store your card details. As you use the product, we collect usage data such as which classes you start and complete, conversations you have with Claude inside the app, and basic device and browser information for security and analytics.

How we use it

We use what we collect to run the product, process your subscription, personalize the Claude teacher to your context, improve the curriculum, send you transactional email about your account and billing, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

Claude conversations

Conversations you have with the Claude teacher are stored in our database so you can resume them later. These conversations are private to your account. We use anonymized, aggregated patterns from how the teacher mode is used to improve lessons and prompts. We do not train models on your individual conversation content.

Who we share data with

We share the minimum necessary with service providers who help us run the product: Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments and billing), Supabase (database), AWS (Bedrock for the Claude teacher, S3 and CloudFront for lesson videos, SES for transactional email). Each is bound by their own privacy and security commitments. We share information when required by law.

Your choices

You can update your account details and email preferences from your account settings. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your billing page. If you want a copy of your data or want your account deleted, email hello@northstaraiacademy.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies for authentication, session management, and basic analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

Children

North Star AI Academy is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how we handle your data, we will let you know via email before the change takes effect.
